Job Description
The Business Intelligence & Applications Lead is responsible for leading the BI & Applications chapter within the Data & AI function and owns the company-wide business intelligence and application landscape. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, this role oversees analytics engineering, semantic models, governed reporting, and business applications that digitize and optimize business processes. The role establishes standards for analytics engineering, BI development, application development, and governed self-service while ensuring scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders and technology teams, the Business Intelligence & Applications Lead drives adoption, user satisfaction, and continuous improvement across reporting and application platforms. Success is measured through solution adoption, user satisfaction, data quality, reporting effectiveness, and the development of a high-performing analytics and applications organization.
- Lead, develop and grow the BI & Applications chapter, including Analytics Engineers, BI Developers and App Developers, fostering capability development and high-performance delivery.
- Define and maintain standards for analytics engineering, data modelling, semantic layers, BI development and application lifecycle management across the Data & AI function.
- Own the delivery of governed, scalable and high-performing BI solutions built on reusable and certified semantic models that enable data-driven decision making.
- Lead the design and implementation of user-facing applications and workflows that digitize business processes while ensuring security, compliance and maintainability.
- Enable governed self-service analytics through training, community building and reporting estate optimization using adoption and usage insights.
- Drive user adoption and satisfaction by continuously improving solutions, collaborating across Data & AI teams and ensuring the underlying data foundation supports reporting and application needs.

For this role as a Business Intelligence & Applications Lead, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and extensive experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering and business application development, including leadership of technical teams.
- Expert knowledge of SQL, dimensional modelling, semantic data models and modern data architecture principles.
- Advanced expertise with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query, performance optimisation and governed reporting environments.
- Strong experience with application development platforms including Power Apps, Dataverse and modern enterprise application ecosystems.
- Experience with Databricks, analytics engineering frameworks, automated testing, DevOps practices and agile delivery methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting and application solutions.
